Colts Trot

Fun(d) Run

November 19, 2025

Green Valley Elementary School’s annual fall fun run event, invites students and families to raise awareness and fundraise in support of the mission of Green Valley Learning Fund.

We used to outsource this event to a vendor (formerly Apex Fun Run), but we grew tired of the focus on toys instead of exercise - this healthy and fun, turkey trot inspired fundraiser is now run by parent volunteers

HOW IT WORKS:

1.Students are asked to obtain pledges for running or walking laps around the track, which will be collected online through the (free!!) platform 99Pledges.

  • Donors can choose a flat-fee donation or $ per lap to sponsor their student(s)

  • The minimum number of laps which a donor will be billed is 24 laps and maximum of 36 laps. On average each student will complete 24 laps.

COLLECTING PLEDGES:

  1. Check your email for your personal invite from 99 Pledges/GVLF on November 12th

  2. Click on Private Profile Page link to personalize your student(s) page including adding a photo, personal goal*, and message.

  3. Share your student(s) page(s) or QR code with friends and family!

*The default goal is $100 per student to reach our goal of $50,000. You can update your student’s goal at any time to help bring the most support!

  • All students will receive a Colts Trot Fun Run shirt on November 19. Students should wear comfortable athletic wear and shoes, and bring water bottle!

  • Each grade is encouraged to dress/accessorize in their spirit color!

  • Each grade will run/walk around a track at the back of Green Valley’s campus (grass or blacktop depending on weather).

  • Due to the size of the GV track, one lap around the track equals three laps for pledges.

RAINY DAY ROUTE

Including if there has been significant rain in the days leading up to the run, as the grass on the field will quickly turn into a mud-bog if 466 students run on it all day long!

The Fine Print:

  • For pledges to count toward prizes, they need to be received by Thursday, November 20th at noon. We will accept donations received after this, but they will not count toward incentive prize eligibility.

  • All students will receive a Colts Trot Fun Run shirt on November 19. Students should wear comfortable athletic wear and shoes, and bring water bottle!

  • On the day of Colts Trot, each grade will run/walk around a track at the back of Green Valley’s campus (grass or blacktop depending on weather).

  • Parking Advisory: Please be aware that parking in our front lot will be extremely limited. If the weather permits, we highly encourage you to consider walking to the school.

  • Entrance: All spectators must enter the school only through the front gate.

  • Immediate Exit Required: For the safety and focus of all students, we cannot have any adults lingering on campus. As soon as your student has completed their run, you must exit the campus immediately.

Due to the size of the GV track, one lap around the track equals three laps for pledges.

Incentives this year will focus on teamwork as a class and grade, earning experiences like a Pajama Day, Movie Party, and of course some treat prizes like donuts, a pizza party, etc.
